Welcome to the all new MemorOx
Following my decision to return to programme collecting, after an absence of several years, it was a natural (and inevitable) decision to restart the MemorOx project.
MemorOx originated about 15 years ago as a project to identify all known Oxford United and Headington football programmes to assist collectors. Hundreds of hours of research went into producing the first database. Since then hundreds more hours have been spent to bring the database to today's version.
In producing the database as it now stands, many new programmes have been identified that were previously unknown.
Additional updates include identification of the venue of each match, rather than just "Home" or "Away". Because of regular sponsorship changes, a decision was made to use the original unsponsored name for each venue.
The MemorOx database isn't only my work, but a collaborative effort of several long standing and very knowledgeable collectors, each of whom has input many hours of research, and my thanks go out to Anthony Warne and Jeremy Stoyle, plus a very special thanks to Phil Malcolm for his long standing and very significant work on this database with me.
As always, the MemorOx database is an ongoing project. There remains much information to add and no doubt some to correct, so do please feel free to contact me with any updates or corrections. They will be much appreciated.
I hope to expand the record of reserves, A team and youth entries in the database, particularly for the Headington United years.
Also coming soon will be an option for collectors to advertise programmes for sale and wanted lists.
